If it rains, is recommended to take refuge in the empty trunk of the Big chestnut tree of la baga d'en Cuch, a giant tree with 12 metres of perimeter, where three couples correctly situated were able to dance a 'sardana'. The name of Cànoves means new houses and it was mentioned for the first time in the year 1002, but there has been found remainders from more ancient times, such as the ones of an Iberian town, inhabited in the IV and III centuries BC, in the area of Samalús. The territory of the parish church of Cànoves depended on the Castle of Cànoves, known since the year 1113. Later on, the domain of Samalús also depended on the Centelles. Its historical center is the parish church of Sant Andreu of Samalús, located next to the road that goes from La Garriga to Llinar del Vallès.

The house was built during the seventies to enjoy this privileged environment, and now it is offered to those who would like to know it with all its comforts. Many nice families from Barcelona built their second residence in this zone surrounded by forests, thermal waters, and outstanding nature. The Poy de Samalús is one of these houses.
